Jordana Aveline of Erroll (Kingdom Resub Name and Device)

Per bend, purpure and vert a bend between eight fleurs de lys Or

Name:
"Jordana" is the submitter's mundane middle name. A photocopy of her driver's license is attached. We have also found "Jordanus" in "Withycombe", pg 180 dated to 1196, for which "Jordana" is the feminization. "Aveline" is found in "Reaney", pg 19, and is dated to the 12th Century in the earliest variants. The header spelling is undated. "Erroll" is a patronymic found in "Black", pg. 246, the name taken from the city of "Errol" in "Perthshire", found in "Johnston", pg 174 and established in 1190. We believe that the submitter's spelling is a reasonable variant of the locative (which itself has many variants, e.g. "Erole", "Errol", "Erolyn"and more). The submitter allows minor changes, should the College deem it necessary to spell the last name "Errol".

"Wæls" W.G. Searle, p. 473, shows "Wælsing as a patronimic of "Wæls". The plural-patronimic is "Wælsinges". Dated to Beowulf. Submitted as "Waælsinges". With the submitter's verbal approval we added "Hus" to make this more appropriate to a household name. Submitter allows no major changes."Hûs", J.R. Clark Hall, A concise Anglo-Saxon Dictionary, p. 196, means House.

Device:

We cite "Storvik, barony of", 1/97, [Fieldless] A wooden drakkar's prow proper.

There is a contrast problem between wooden items proper and color fields, including a precedent on this. This is also lacking identifiability. Suggestion is to separate the prows and to change the color of the gules field or the prows. Also, please feed the rayonny.

Seanach an tSeanachaidhe (Name change, device change)

Sable, between the horns of a crescent argent two stag's attires Or

Registered as Seanach Ó hAoadha 11/97.

"Seanach"is in Ó Corráin and Maguire p. 164, under "Senach" early Irish name.

"tSeanachaidhe" Gaelic for "The Storyteller". From the LoAR 4/93 "The occupational byname uses incorrect grammar the article "na" is the female genitive form, it should be the masculine nominative form "an". It should also prefix a T to nouns beginning with S + a vowel, so the correct form should be "an tSeanachaidhe"."

We cite "Sir Thomas Belsham" Sable, a crescent argent. Papworth p. 594. We do not consider this an important enough person to protect. No instructions were given as to disposition of the currently registered Or a crescent and on a chief triangular sable a massacre Or. No conflicts found.
