Notes for the Caid Order of PrecedenceFor comments on the Order of Precedence, please contact its Keeper, The Honorable Lady Catrin ferch Dafydd [ ]. There are five Caidan Orders which bestow a Grant of Arms if the recipient already has not received an award of that rank or higher. They are the Order of Chiron (for archery), the Order of the Crescent (for service), the Order of the Gauntlet of Caid (for armored combat), the Order of the Lux Caidis (for arts and sciences) and the White Scarf of Caid (for rapier fighting). There are five Caidan orders which bestow an Award of Arms if the recipient already has not received an award of that rank or higher. They are the Order of the Argent Arrow (for archery), the Order of the Crescent Sword (for armored combat), the Order of the Dolphin (for service), the Order of the Duellist (for rapier) and the Order of the Harp Argent (for arts and sciences). The database is still being rebuilt so there are some things missing. Notations of "Moved" and "Deceased" have not yet been re-added. OPByEvent is currently being rebuilt, so notations about which award was given at which court is still being re-added. Dates are in the form: YYMMDD. The day of the week is in (parentheses) between the date and the award name. It is determined from the date. If no day of the week is given, then either it is Saturday or part of the date is not known. Notes (such as a term in office) is in {braces} after the award. The location for an award is given in [brackets] for those given in other Kingdoms or for baronial awards. If the award was granted in the Kingdom of the West before the creation of the Kingdom of Caid, then it is marked with an asterisk (*). Some awards are granted in recognition for a specific skill or art form, which is noted in (parentheses) if known. Multiple awards are in the Order of Precedence in the order of the date given. If part of the date is not known, then that award is in the OP after all others for which the parts are known (e.g. if only the year is known, then it is placed after all others in that year). While every attempt is made to match the names in reports with those in the Order of Precedence, some errors are inevitable. The name announced may be phonetically or incorrectly spelled in the report (e.g., 'Catharine' for 'Katharina'). Name changes in process of being registered may not have been noticed, especially drastic ones or cases where the original was simply the first name. Comments, suggestions or updates regarding this site should be sent to Return to the main OP page |
